The Executive Yuan on Thursday approved a draft of its 2026 administrative plan, proposed by the National Development Council. The draft, together with the central government's 2026 general budget proposal, will be submitted to the Legislative Yuan for deliberation.
Premier Cho Jung-tai noted that Taiwan is currently navigating an evolving global landscape marked by political and economic shifts, growing geopolitical risks, supply chain restructuring and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. To meet these challenges, the premier's administrative team must take active steps and embrace innovative thinking to advance a wide range of policies that serve the public interest and support the nation's development. With the goals of implementing smart industry strategies and positioning Taiwan as a global leader in AI, the administrative plan lays a strong foundation for prosperous and sustainable development.
