The Executive Yuan on Thursday approved a special budget bill to fund an expansion of Taiwan's COVID-19 response program amid the coronavirus' ongoing spread around the world.
Premier Su Tseng-chang thanked all party caucuses at the Legislature for their support in passing amendments to the Special Act for Prevention, Relief and Revitalization Measures for Severe Pneumonia with Novel Pathogens on Tuesday. Now approved by the Executive Yuan, the current bill will immediately be forwarded to the Legislature for review. He ordered ministries and agencies to proactively communicate with lawmakers to ensure passage of the bill as swiftly as possible.
