Executive Yuan approves draft amendments to foreign professionals act

:::

The Executive Yuan on Thursday approved draft amendments to the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals. Proposed by the National Development Council (NDC), the amendments will be submitted to the Legislative Yuan for deliberation.

Premier Cho Jung-tai stated that in order to strengthen Taiwan's ability to attract top global talent, expand into international markets, and accelerate industrial upgrading, transformation and innovation, it is essential to further improve the employment, residency and social security systems for foreign professionals and their families. Creating more conducive environments for attracting and retaining talent, he said, will help ensure that global professionals converge in Taiwan and contribute to the strength of the nation's industries.

The premier further noted that after the amendments are submitted to the Legislature, the NDC and relevant ministries and agencies will actively engage and coordinate with all legislative caucuses to facilitate the swift completion of the amendment process.
