Zero tolerance for gender-based violence in new national action plan

:::

At the Cabinet's weekly meeting Thursday, Premier Cho Jung-tai received a briefing from the Executive Yuan's Department of Gender Equality on a 2025-2027 national action plan to prevent gender-based violence. The premier stated that it is the nation's responsibility to create a gender-equal society. He asked all relevant ministries and agencies to coordinate with the Judicial Yuan and local governments to actively implement the action plan, which aims to foster social environments with zero tolerance for gender-based violence so that people of all genders can live safely and without fear.

Furthermore, the premier directed the Ministry of Health and Welfare to establish an effective, welcoming and trustworthy service system for victims and an investigative research center for gender-based violence, aiming to strengthen the research in this area and deepen its application. He also instructed the Ministry of Justice to work with the Judicial Yuan to create a supportive legal environment for victims, and to review offender treatment measures for preventing recidivism.

Noting that the coming Saturday, March 8, is International Women's Day, Premier Cho also expressed gratitude to women across the country for their hard work and outstanding contributions in various fields, which drive the development and progress of Taiwanese society.
