At the Cabinet's weekly meeting Thursday, Premier Cho Jung-tai received a Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) briefing on a program to develop applications and infrastructure for digital modeling and digital twins of locations in Taiwan's city and countryside. The premier said the program's aim is to promote digital infrastructure and encourage local governments to team up with industries on this endeavor. The program will introduce new applications for digital models and digital twins that simulate real-world urban and rural environments, as well as create innovative services targeting specialized fields, thereby accelerating development, applications and interdisciplinary collaboration around related technologies, and driving the transformation and upgrade of local industries.
Premier Cho asked MODA to partner with local governments and businesses to expand the linking up of innovative applications across different fields, and continue to promote the diversified development of Taiwan's digital industries while ensuring that information security is protected.
