Executive Yuan affirms students' decision to exit Legislature

:::
The Executive Yuan today affirmed a decision by students protesting the Cross-Strait Agreement on Trade in Services to terminate their sit-in demonstration and leave the Legislature Yuan's chamber this Thursday, April 10.

Since the student-led occupation began on March 18, the Executive Yuan has on numerous occasions called on the students to return the Legislature to the people. The Executive Yuan also urged the students to conduct themselves in a legal and rational manner when engaging in public activism in the future, said Executive Yuan Spokesperson Sun Lih-chyun.

The Executive Yuan continues to hold the position that the trade in services pact should be reviewed at the same time that the cross-strait agreements monitoring bill is being legislated, rather than after legislation. Premier Jiang directed government ministries to continue building public support by helping citizens understand all the issues surrounding the monitoring bill and the services pact.
