The government will provide an initial batch of information to the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) administrative-transfer team tomorrow (March 4), Vice Premier Duh Tyzz-jiun stated today. This is part of the Executive Yuan's effort to ensure a smooth transfer of government administration May 20, the inauguration date of the next president.
This batch includes 29 synopsis reports of the Executive Yuan and its ministries and agencies, in addition to their respective legal-budget books for the 2016 fiscal year. Each report covers an agency's administrative operations, organizational structure, personnel quota, budget allocation, project progress, and blueprints for major policies.
Duh today convened the second meeting with administrative deputy ministers of various ministries and agencies to discuss the transfer of administrative operations, including means of handling DPP team requests for information about particular operations or for further elaboration.
The DPP team has sought information from the Executive Yuan about such policy issues as disease prevention, flood prevention, electricity supply, pension reform and government restructuring. The Executive Yuan has directed the relevant ministries and agencies to speedily compile the needed information for delivery to the DPP team.
Ministries and agencies have also been directed to assign appropriate personnel for future meetings as needed. Via bilateral communication channels, the Executive Yuan will make arrangements for subsequent transfer-related matters so as to ensure the smooth functioning and continuity of government administration.
