The Executive Yuan on Thursday approved a draft of its 2027 administrative plan, proposed by the National Development Council. The draft, together with the central government's 2027 general budget proposal, will be submitted to the Legislative Yuan for deliberation.
Premier Cho Jung-tai said the 2027 administrative plan was formulated by government agencies to serve the nation's development needs and respond to the public's expectations. It translates President Lai Ching-te's governing vision and the Executive Yuan's administrative priorities into concrete policies and programs, with realistic budget allocations to support their implementation.
Premier Cho highlighted that Taiwan faces mounting challenges—including geopolitical tensions, the global AI race, the restructuring of global supply chains, new U.S. tariff policies and net-zero transition—and that the nation must seize the opportunities before it and move boldly ahead, as failure to advance will mean falling behind. The premier directed his administrative team to fully implement all policy initiatives, so as to lay a solid foundation for Taiwan's continued development, enhance its global competitiveness and strategic position, expand its economic reach to markets worldwide, accelerate the widespread application of smart innovation, and strengthen national security and resilience. Meanwhile, the government will increase its support for the people, ensuring that the benefits of economic growth are shared by all and that every generation can enjoy secure livelihoods and peace of mind.
