Liu I-chou has been named acting chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Executive Yuan Spokesperson Sun Lih-chyun announced today.
The previous chairperson, Chang Po-ya, has stepped down in order to take office as president of the Control Yuan on August 1.
Liu had been serving as the CEC's deputy chairperson.
