Taiwan collaborates with Amazon Web Services to aid SMEs and startups

:::

Vice Premier Chen Chi-mai on Tuesday attended a signing ceremony for an agreement between the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) for the establishment of a Joint Innovation Center at the Startup Terrace innovation park in New Taipei City.

Taiwan is a manufacturing powerhouse for the information and communications industry complete with a pool of high-caliber talent, the vice premier said. With AWS's discerning vision, technology services and capable guidance, Taiwan's startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be able to grow more quickly and connect to the global market to hone their competitive advantages.

The MOEA Small and Medium Enterprise Administration said the Joint Innovation Center is expected to attract world-leading companies, startup teams and technology specialists. Housing accelerators that help startups and SMEs with digital transformation and cloud computing, the center will offer AWS cloud computing services, technical training, and business and technological consulting services. With the center's assistance, companies will be able to realize large cost savings, bring products to market faster, improve business agility, and reach the global market within a short timeframe. The center will also collaborate with reputable international accelerators to help Taiwan's startup firms expand their global business and to attract foreign startups to Taiwan.
