Premier visits tour bus accident victims at local hospitals

:::

Premier Lin Chuan visited injured passengers at Taipei Municipal Wanfang Hospital and Taipei Medical University Hospital early this morning following a major accident last night in which a tour bus flipped over a guardrail on National Freeway No. 5 in Taipei.

Executive Yuan Spokesperson Hsu Kuo-yung said that as two of the four crash victims at Wangfang Hospital unfortunately passed away and the other two were undergoing emergency surgery, the premier immediately set off to visit the injured at Taipei Medical University Hospital after being briefed by the Wanfang Hospital superintendant.

At Taipei Medical University Hospital, the premier said the incident was a heartbreaking tragedy. In light of the fatalities, he called on the Ministry of Justice to conduct an on-site investigation as quickly as possible, and asked area hospitals to provide all possible assistance to those hospitalized. The premier also pledged that the administration will work with the Taipei City and New Taipei City governments to take care of all the necessary follow-up tasks and arrangements.
