At Thursday's weekly Cabinet meeting, Premier Cho Jung-tai was briefed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) on the latest results and outlook of the Long-term Care Plan 2.0. Taiwan has been implementing the plan in 10-year phases since 2006, the premier said, and nearly 20 years later, it continues to uphold the principle of promoting diverse and accessible services for aging in place, accelerating resource distribution and expanding offerings, so that the people can enjoy convenient and affordable care. The Long-term Care Plan 2.0 has garnered high praise from the public, with service satisfaction reaching 90%.
Premier Cho said the MOHW will launch the Long-term Care Plan 3.0 in 2026, building on the foundation and achievements of the Long-term Care Plan 2.0 to swiftly advance President Lai Ching-te's "Healthy Taiwan" policy vision. The new plan will enhance the integration of home, community, institutional, medical and social welfare services for greater continuity of care, while promoting healthy aging, aging in place and a peaceful end of life.
