In the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, the ROC government will immediately establish an inter-ministerial platform to coordinate the provision of aid to the Philippines, Premier Jiang Yi-huah said at today's Cabinet meeting.
The premier instructed Minister without Portfolio Lin Junq-tzer to supervise the effort and ensure the mechanism is completed as soon as possible.
The ROC sent relief supplies to the Philippines through the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Defense at the first possible moment following the November 8 disaster and is paying close attention to the circumstances of those who suffered through the storm, Jiang said.
Citizens can also express their concern for the Philippines by sending relief supplies through the Red Cross, the premier advised.
