The National Conference on Economic and Trade Affairs is set to kick off on July 26 at the Taipei International Convention Center in the nation's capital, the Executive Yuan said today.
The three-day event will explore Taiwan's economic development in a globalized world, as well as strategies for regional economic integration and cross-strait trade. A platform for citizens to exchange opinions and present different perspectives, the conference aims to forge a national consensus on the development of Taiwan's economic and trade future.
To lay the groundwork for the national conference, a series of regional meetings around Taiwan were held in advance. The regional meeting for northern Taiwan took place on June 21-22, southern Taiwan June 28-29, central Taiwan July 5-6 and eastern Taiwan July 12-13. Viewpoints collected from these meetings will be incorporated into the discussion agenda for the national conference.
