Under an initiative to extend one-stop services, six e-government portals will be successively launched starting March 26, underscoring the government's efforts to enhance public services through integration of online resources.
The subjects of and agencies providing services on the six portals are as follows:
- Youth startups: the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
- Digital learning: the Ministry of Education (MOE).
- Youths returning to their rural hometowns to start agribusinesses: the Council of Agriculture (COA).
- My Health Bank: the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW).
- Senior workforce development: the Ministry of Labor (MOL).
- Commodity prices: the National Development Council (NDC).
The Executive Yuan has endeavored to establish effective online communication mechanisms—creating "online avatars" —in a bid to integrate online resources and bridge the offline and online worlds in order to improve public services. The competent authorities have combined information and services on the portals for access by the public.
The MOEA will hold a press conference at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, to announce the launch of its upgraded online platform for youth startups. This event will be held at the former official residence of the premier, which now serves as a youth startup base and social enterprise hub.
At 6:30 p.m. that same day at Fu Jen Catholic University, the MOE will hold a national initiation ceremony for its upgraded digital learning partner platform. The platform will link up academia, industries and government to establish an integrated online-to-offline "rainbow bridge" for digital learning.
On Friday, March 27, the COA will hold a press conference to announce the launch of the portal for young farmers' startups.
On Saturday, March 28, at Taipei City's Dajia Riverside Park, the MOHW will organize a road run, set up service stalls for My Health Bank (a passbook for one's health records) and hold a quiz contest with prizes.
On Monday, March 30, at the Senior Workforce Development Service Center, the MOL will announce the launch of its online resource platform for elderly manpower. Integrating relevant ministries' and agencies' information, the platform will provide all-encompassing information for senior citizens.
On Tuesday, March 31, the NDC will convene a press conference to announce the launch of its online platform which the public can access to check the recent prices of everyday products.
The Executive Yuan hopes that such online avatars will help the administration utilize Internet resources and set up platforms for promoting various policies and services, enhancing linkage between government policies and the online world so as to achieve the goal of extending unlimited services to the public.
