The Executive Yuan on Thursday approved amendments to Article 29 of the Act for the Establishment and Management of Free Trade Zones and Article 35 of the International Airport Park Development Act. The draft amendments will now go to the Legislative Yuan for review and debate.
Premier Lai Ching-te said that the revisions will enable Taiwan to fulfill its pledge to the European Union to make adjustments to the nation's system of taxation. New tax measures that conform to the EU's recommendations following Taiwan's participation in a multi-country review will advance prospects for international economic cooperation.
