New plan to boost brand marketing of local shopping districts

:::

At the Cabinet's weekly meeting Thursday, Premier Cho Jung-tai received a Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) report on a plan to strengthen the brand marketing of commercial districts. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) form the foundation of Taiwan's economic development, the premier said, and local shopping districts are crucial to fostering regional prosperity. To showcase the vibrant diversity of these areas and bolster regional revitalization, the initiative will focus on tourism, with an estimated NT$850 million (US$26.1 million) allocated over four years to support brand marketing, promotion and economic guidance for commercial districts.

Premier Cho instructed the MOEA to work closely with local governments to actively implement four key strategies: optimizing shopping experiences, attracting tourists, holding benchmark competitions and building organizational capacity. These efforts will aim to create new models of success for commercial districts and enhance the value of local brands.
