Premier presents awards and calls on staff to continue assisting incoming administration

:::
While presiding over the merit awards ceremony for the vice premier, political appointees and Cabinet ministers today, Premier Chang San-cheng lauded the Executive Yuan and ministerial staff present at the Executive Yuan auditorium for maintaining the spirit of teamwork and called on them to continue helping the incoming administration perform well.

Chang remarked that throughout his four-year tenure in the Cabinet as minister without portfolio, minister of science and technology, vice premier and then premier, he has regarded the Cabinet members as good friends working together for a common goal. Over the past four years he and other Cabinet members have forged a strong bond of shared "revolutionary" sentiment, and he will always cherish this friendship.

The premier compared the government to a huge machine, and the administration members, himself included, to nuts and bolts. For the machine to run smoothly, each part of it—big or small—must function properly, Chang said. He credited the administrative team members for remaining steadfast at their posts and for delivering achievements that are highly approved by the public, and he expressed his gratitude for their hard work. Their mutual support and strong efforts even in the face of emergencies like the February 6 earthquake have enabled him to perform well as premier, he pointed out.
