Open Government National Action Plan enters new phase

:::

At the Cabinet's weekly Thursday meeting, Premier Cho Jung-tai received a report from the National Development Council on the next phase of the Open Government National Action Plan for 2025 through 2028. The premier said that the plan, launched in 2021, has adhered to the core values and citizen participation standards defined by international organizations, and has established a solid foundation for advancing open government through joint efforts by the government and civil society.

Premier Cho said the new phase of the action plan will focus on addressing challenges in five major areas and introduce seven key commitments: climate change governance, transparency in personal data management, openness in cross-ministry data sharing and governmental software development, youth engagement in Hakka affairs, narrowing of the digital divide for indigenous communities, greater transparency in political donations, and safety information services for ocean recreation. He emphasized that the spirit and core values of open government—transparency, participation and accountability—must be effectively integrated into the operations of all ministries and agencies.
