Premier receives Canadian delegation to promote science, technology cooperation

:::

Premier Chen Chien-jen on Monday received a Canadian delegation celebrating the 25th anniversary of science and technology cooperation between Taiwan and Canada. The premier said this friendship of more than a quarter of a century has laid a solid foundation for exchanges in education, science and technology, industrial innovation, and technological research and development. In the past, cooperation between Taiwan and Canada mostly focused on medical science and nanotechnology. Looking forward, the premier firmly believes that both sides will continue to strengthen bilateral talent cultivation and research in these fields and beyond.

The premier said international cooperation is an essential part of research and development, and thanked the National Research Council of Canada for its enduring commitment to collaborating with Taiwan's academic and research community. He also expressed appreciation for the Council's continuous effort to serve as a bridge for bilateral scientific research cooperation, talent cultivation, and collaboration between research institutions. By strengthening bilateral cooperation and staying committed to seeking win-win opportunities, Taiwan and Canada can help each other develop the technological ecosystem and make the world a better place, he said.
