Executive Yuan announces Cabinet changes

Premier Lai Ching-te on Thursday announced partial changes to the Cabinet lineup that will affect several ministries and agencies.

Interior Minister Yeh Jiunn-rong will take over as minister of education, with his post to be filled by Executive Yuan Minister without Portfolio and Spokesperson Hsu Kuo-yung. The Executive Yuan spokesperson post, meanwhile, will be assumed by Legislator Kolas Yotaka.

In addition, Deputy Finance Minister Su Jain-rong will be promoted to minister of finance, while Investigation Bureau Director-General Tsai Ching-hsiang has been appointed minister of justice. Taiwan International Ports Corp. Chairman Wu Hong-mo will become minister of transportation and communications, and former Minister of the Council for Cultural Affairs Chen Chi-nan will take over as director of the National Palace Museum.

The new Cabinet appointees will officially take office July 16.
