:::
Premier Sean Chen accepted the resignation of Wang Ju-hsuan, minister of the Council of Labor Affairs, at noon today. Deputy Minister Pan Shih-wei will perform her duties on an interim basis pending the confirmation of Wang's successor.

Chen noted that Wang implemented numerous policies during her four-plus years in her post whose benefits to workers are plain to see, including amendments to the Labor Union Act, Collective Agreement Act and Settlement of Labor Disputes Act, the revision of the Labor Pension System and the institution of prenatal leave. The premier expressed his sincere thanks to Wang for her efforts and affirmed her hard work and dedication.
