Premier oversees government preparations for Lunar New Year holiday

:::

At the Cabinet's weekly meeting on Thursday, Premier Chen Chien-jen received briefings from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Financial Supervisory Commission on measures related to the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday period. The premier said this year's holiday stretches across seven days from February 8 to February 14, with large numbers of the public expected to return to their hometowns and go traveling. During this time, the government will continue to provide fast and convenient public transport and ensure stable commodity supplies, while also strengthening financial services, medical services and epidemic prevention, so that the public can celebrate a peaceful and joyful Lunar New Year.

The premier reminded all ministries, agencies and local governments to embrace the spirit of public service as they diligently maintain the high quality of their institutions' services during the holiday period. By taking preemptive steps to ensure proper management and planning, as well as making full use of technology to keep abreast of situations, the government can swiftly resolve various issues affecting people's daily lives, and ensure all members of the public enjoy uninterrupted access to government services all year round.
