Taiwan has bagged another medal at the Olympic Games in Brazil today (August 9 in Taiwan), this time a bronze in the women's weightlifting event. On hearing the news, Premier Lin Chuan immediately sent off a telegram congratulating Kuo Hsing-chun for her exceptional performance.
Kuo, competing in the women's 58-kilogram group, lifted 102 kilograms in the snatch and 129 kilograms in the clean and jerk, for a total of 231 kilograms. Her victory adds another bronze medal for Team Taiwan.
