Net-zero strategies unveiled for the nation's construction sector

:::

At the Cabinet's weekly meeting Thursday, Premier Cho Jung-tai received a Ministry of the Interior (MOI) briefing on strategies to promote the nation's transition to net-zero buildings. The premier said the MOI examined international trends when developing its outline for pathways and measures to reach net-zero carbon emissions in the construction sector by 2050. He instructed relevant ministries and agencies to work side by side with local governments to actively implement the outlined strategies.

Premier Cho emphasized that the transition to net zero will have an impact on people's lifestyles and modes of production. He instructed the MOI to strengthen communication with various sectors of society as the strategies are carried out, and to conduct rolling reviews of the outlined pathways through civic engagement and social dialogue, so that the net-zero emissions target can be achieved on schedule.
