The Cabinet today passed a draft of the Executive Yuan's 2016 administrative directions, which the Executive Yuan's branch agencies will use to prepare their own 2016 administrative directions and budgets.
The seven administrative strategies and work focuses included in the draft are as follows:
- Transforming the economy and achieving smart cities and smart living.
- Transforming society and achieving care for the disadvantaged.
- Transforming policy thinking and refining the efficacy of governance.
- Creating LOHAS (lifestyles of health and sustainability) and increasing environmental sustainability.
- Ensuring the happiness of citizens and upgrading security management.
- Forward-looking, innovative education and upgrading talent cultivation.
- Consolidating cross-strait peace and increasing international participation.
According to the Budget Act, the Executive Yuan had to formulate the 2016 administrative directions by the end of this month, and it is to submit next year's Central Government General Budget by the end of August.
Regarding the content of the draft, Premier Mao Chi-kuo stated that agencies have already referred to the major administrative items researched and presented by the Executive Yuan, and the ministers without portfolio have reviewed the directions and found them feasible.
Officials said that to create a whole-new Taiwan, the government will join hands with the citizenry to return Taiwan to glory and let all citizens share in the fruits of success.
