Premier: Taiwan's economic strength recognized worldwide

:::

At the Cabinet's weekly meeting Thursday, Premier Chen Chien-jen received a National Development Council briefing on the recent achievements and future outlook of Taiwan's economy. The premier said the nation's economic development has yielded outstanding results in areas including economic growth, global competitiveness, exports, investment, labor markets, private consumption, fiscal discipline and financial markets, outperforming other major economies on several economic indicators. These achievements have enabled the world to recognize Taiwan's economic strength.

To help Taiwan further grow and prosper on the path of freedom and democracy, Premier Chen instructed his administrative team to continue implementing the government's post-pandemic special budget, assisting the transition and upgrade of industries, optimizing the domestic investment environment, attracting key foreign businesses to invest in Taiwan, fostering the talent demanded by industries, alleviating the public's day-to-day financial burdens, and bolstering international exchange and cooperation. The premier said his team will strive to create a more happy, compassionate and resilient nation for the people of Taiwan.
