Responding to the global wave of AI transformation, the government has launched a 2026-2029 AI talent program aimed at building a new AI-powered smart education ecosystem for students across grades 1-12. Through a systematic rollout of initiatives, the program improves students' AI literacy and learning outcomes, while also enhancing primary and secondary school teachers' ability to integrate AI into teaching, thereby cultivating globally competitive talent in Taiwan.
Three key areas
■ Build AI learning environments: Develop a diverse range of digital materials to enhance students' learning motivation and experience. Create generative AI tools with learning-companion features to foster student engagement. Establish self-directed learning platforms with differentiated support. Build AI teaching assistants, AI tutors and other role-based AI models to provide multi-dimensional support for teachers, students, parents and school administrators. Implement precision learning analytics to refine AI-supported adaptive instruction and learning feedback.
■ Cultivate cross-disciplinary AI educators: Establish coaching mechanisms that help teachers embed AI in classroom practice. Integrate AI-assisted instructional approaches and applications into teacher education programs to enhance teachers' practical ability to leverage AI in teaching.
■ Strengthen data-driven analytics and decision-making: Upgrade big data analytics systems for digital learning and education to support education policy formulation and decision-making. Deepen the use of learning behavior analytics to guide adjustments in instructional strategies and policy planning. Strengthen data literacy training for teachers and advance a data-driven model for instructional decision-making.
