Taiwanese weightlifter wins 2 golds, 1 silver in global contest Taipei, Nov. 23 (CNA) Hsu Shu-ching of Taiwan (許淑淨) won two golds and one silver medal in the women's under-53 kilogram division at the World Weightlifting Championships in Houston, Texas on Sunday. Hsu won gold in the clean and jerk with a lift of 125 kg, and silver in the snatch with a lift of 96 kg. China's Chen Xiaoting (陳曉婷) won the snatch with a lift of 101 kg. Hsu had a combined lift of 221 kg, which earned her a second gold medal. It is her first gold in the combined lift at the World Weightlifting Championships and her third in international competitions. At the 17th Asian Games in South Korea last year, Hsu set a world record in the women's 53 kg weightlifting category with a combined lift of 233 kg This year's World Weightlifting Championship, which is being held Nov. 20-28, is a qualifying competition for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
